Bergen is the gateway to the fjords of Norway, and a popular cruise destination with the busiest port in the country.
If you choose to stay in the city centre, you’ll be a short walk away from Bergen’s attractions such as Bryggen, the Fløibanen funicular and the Fish Market.
We suggest six hotels in a central location in Bergen. Surprisingly, Norwegian hotels aren’t more expensive than hotels you find in many other places, and they usually have a great breakfast included in the price.
The 4-star Scandic Ørnen is part of Scandic, the largest hotel chain in Scandinavia. It
offers an excellent breakfast buffet, included in the price, and it’s two minutes from the bus and train station. The Bryggen wharf is also walking distance.
First Hotel Marin
Located in Bryggen, the First Hotel Marin has rooms with mountain and city views. If you stay in a room on the upper floors, you may be able to glimpse the harbour. Location is perfect to visit Bergen sites, and there are several restaurants in the area.
