Heydar Aliyev Airport (GYD) is located about 25 kilometres / 16 miles northeast of downtown Baku, and it’s the gateway airport to Azerbaijan.
The airport serves regularly scheduled flights to several European cities such as Moscow, Budapest, Riga, and Istanbul.
It’s also the main hub for Azerbaijan Airlines.

The Aero Express is an airport shuttle that transfers travellers between Heydar Aliyev Airport and central Baku, with a stop at Koroglu metro station. The service runs every 30 minutes between 6am and 10pm.
A ticket costs AZN 1.30 (about €0.70, or $0.75) + AZN 2 (about €1, or $1.15) from the BakuCard (which you can use to get around Baku on public transport). Tickets can be bought at automatic machines (BakuCard Kiosks) when exiting Terminal 1. These machines only take cash (coins and banknotes).
